Our story started in September 2015 when Dustin happened to sit next to Ashly at a USC football game in the LA Coliseum. It was Ashly's first week living in LA and, in between bites of her footlong hotdog, overexcitedly kept texting her mom photos of every moment.
Dustin noticed, made small talk, and quickly suggested they play a joke on her mom by sending her a photo of Ashly kissing Dustin on the cheek jokingly implying that she had "already found a new boyfriend". While Ashly was a bit suspicious and it was outside of her normal, she loves a good prank. Angela was not amused. Here is the original photo of the prank within 5 minutes of meeting for the first time and some recreations throughout the years.

Class of 2016
Dustin graduated from USC in 2016 and took a job in Florida to be closer to his family, while Ashly finished her Masters degree in LA. Our paths diverged, but would inevitably cross again after some time apart.
Where did they meet up in 2017 to see if there was still a spark? Nashville. Shared hobbies and values of family, live music, faith, and a passion for serving others have kept our relationship strong through the natural valleys of life and love.

A Nashville Reunion

After dating long distance for about a year and half, Dustin accepted a role to join Ashly at The Ohio State University and moved to Columbus to start our life together. After a few years, and amidst a pandemic, Dustin planned a surprise engagement with our friends and family in attendance.

At the same location Ashly's parents got married nearly 30 years prior, on August 14, 2021, Ashly said "yes" though it's still debatable whether she was able to get the words out through her tears. We then built a home together in October 2021 in Columbus, OH where we currently reside. One new job later for Dustin, we are excited what the future will bring.
